About Cycle for Good

Cycle for Good brings together individuals, families and friends to cycle and raise awareness on the importance of empowering and engaging seniors to enhance their well-being and lead a purposeful life, while raising funds to support Cycling Without Age (CWA) Singapore. Your participation in Cycle for Good will help CWA Singapore meet its goal of raising $250,000 to engage 750 new beneficiaries and train 100 new volunteers by the end of 2022.

As a registered charity with Institute of Public Character (IPC) status, all donations raised will be eligible for a 250% tax deduction. Which means for every $50 donated, you will receive a tax deduction of $125.

How we engage with our participants

Cycling Without Age Singapore wishes to engage with the participants of Cycle for Good 2022 through a series of lucky draws, special prizes and the grand draw that is scheduled to happen during the finisher event at the end of the fundraiser.

The draws are meant to encourage the participants' fundraising efforts and show our appreciation for their involvement in our cause. Prizes that are given during the draws are a mix of sponsorship packages donated to us by our event partners, budgeted prizes as approved by our Board of Directors.

The winners of these lucky draws will be communicated on the event's official channels - the Cycle for Good fundraising website (www.cycleforgood.sg), Weekly update email from Cycle for Good 2022, WhatsApp broadcast, and Cycling Without Age Singapore's Facebook and Instagram pages. Staff and directors of Cycling Without Age Singapore who have signed up for Cycle for Good 2022 will be excluded in all the lucky draws, special draws and grand draw.

The following information details the processes we have for our lucky draws, special draws and the grand draw.
Weekly lucky draws
  1. The weekly lucky draw is conducted on Friday evenings at 1800hrs. It is done virtually via Zoom using the CWA Zoom account and is conducted by the CEO, and witnessed by the Head of Fundraising sub-committee who is also a director of the Board.
  2. The draws are recorded over Zoom as official records and these records will be retained for a period of 1 year.
  3. Winners are notified after the draw via WhatsApp and Email from the CWA team and are asked for their social media handles. The social media handles of the winners will be used to tag them in the official lucky draw announcement.
  4. The lucky draw announcements will be published on Saturdays at 12noon.
  5. Once a participant has won, their name will be excluded in succeeding prizes to be drawn for that specific week.
  6. The participants who have won in previous weekly draws will still be included in succeeding draws.
Special draws

As part of pre-planned and pre-approved activities throughout the event, special draws will be announced to mark milestones in the event such as the lead up to registration closing or finale challenges for event closing. These draws will be announced via the official communication channels mentioned above.

  1. These special draws will be conducted virtually via Zoom by the CEO and the Head of the Fundraising sub-committee who is also a director of the Board. The timing of the draw will depend on the milestone date and will be announced to all participants.
  2. The draws are recorded over Zoom as official records and these records will be retained for a period of 1 year.
  3. Winners are notified after the draw via WhatsApp and Email from the CWA team and are asked for their social media handles.
  4. The social media handles will be used in the official special draw announcement on the day following the draw.

About Cycling Without Age (CWA) Singapore

Our vision is to inspire hope and create positive impact to seniors lives. Our mission is to empower and engage seniors to enhance their well-being and lead a purposeful life.

We work to achieve this by:

  • Engage seniors by providing a platform through a set of services to connect
  • Empower seniors by giving them the opportunities to help others
  • Enhance seniors' well-being through the development of interests/hobbies
  • Enrich the seniors' lives with a pursuit of an interest at a higher level

Because we believe that everyone has the right to feel the joy of wind in their hair, and to have a sense of belonging.

Cycling Without Age is a movement started in Denmark in 2012, which has now spread to over 50 countries around the world. In October 2015, Singapore became the first country outside Europe to join the Cycling Without Age movement. Our growing organisation of volunteers and social service partners work together to give seniors and PWDs the experience of trishaw rides and feel connected with the local community.

Since 2015 to the present day, we have been able to provide more than 6,000 trishaw rides.
